A recommendation of Advance Notice Requirements
We understand that emergencies happen. However, as the family’s employee, maintaining reliable attendance is critical to ensuring the quality of care provided to patients. Please follow these recommendations to ensure your clients receive high-quality, uninterrupted care.
Failing to complete your shift with the client will disqualify you from future placements.
1. Planned Time Off and Holidays
Text Clara Home Care two weeks in advance the dates you're taking off and the date you’re going to be back to work at 415-985-0926.
Text (or otherwise notify) the family of the dates you're taking off and the date you're going to be back to work.
If you know of any caregiver who can cover for you let Clara know.
Send a text to Clara at 415-985-0926
Provide the caregiver's name and phone number
2. Running Late
If you are running late for your shift:
Call or text the family if you’re running late before your shift starts.
Provide an estimated arrival time and keep the family informed if your arrival time changes.
3. Sick Days and Emergencies
If you will not be able to attend a regularly scheduled shift:
Give at least a 24-hour notice, before your shift starts. Don’t wait until your shift starts.
Text/Call Clara and the family as soon as you know you can’t make it.
Provide a clear reason for absence.
Follow up with a text/call with Clara and the Family if you’re not able to make your shift the following day. Be clear on when you would be available to go back to work.
Provide doctor’s note, if sick for more than 2 consecutive days.
4. Notice Requirement
If you are planning to end your service with the client, please provide at least two weeks notice to Clara and the family to ensure we have adequate time to find a replacement and the client’s care is not interrupted.
Failure to provide two weeks notice may impact future placement opportunities with Clara.
Consequences
While Clara is not your employer and therefore does not control your employment status, repeated disregard of these guidelines may result in a recommendation of termination to the family, and the provision of a replacement caregiver
